Hills Shire Council looks forward to hearing any community suggestions on the  Smart Places Strategic Framework , a plan to smoothen the implementation of ‘smart’ technologies in The Hills.

The draft supplies a long-term strategy to encourage innovation, tackle urban challenges, attract investment and enhance the general liveability of the region.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Peter Gangemi, talked about the draft proves the Council’s help for selling innovation and stimulating economic benefits.

“Becoming a Smart Place is the way of the longer term,” Mayor Gangemi said.

“This Framework offers a basis for considering how technologies can be responsibly integrated into our public areas to boost them and make these areas even better.

“We are encouraging innovation via expertise that can be used to extend resilience and security throughout natural disasters while encouraging the uptake of energy-efficient technologies to assist our local surroundings thrive.

“The draft Framework also explores how applied sciences can better help the native financial system, making business areas more attractive for companies to arrange shop here.
